Inspection Wales is a programme of joint and collaborative working between:

  • Auditor General and Wales Audit Office
  • Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW)
  • Estyn – Her Majesty’s Inspectorate for Education and Training in Wales
  • Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW)

Heads of the Inspection Wales programme

Our shared aim is to support better outcomes for people, seeking always to protect their interests by reporting without fear or favour on the public services that fall within our remit. By working together effectively, the impact we can have for people can be increased.

Whilst we always have pursued joint and collaborative working, we know that we can do more to share knowledge and information, and co-ordinate the planning and delivery of our work between our organisations.

Governed by clear principles and shared objectives, our collaboration must be visible and demonstrate the value it adds to our activities. We therefore entered into a strategic agreement between our four organisations, which set out how we could further develop our collaborative working arrangements.

This blog will feature regular updates on the programme from our Programme Manager, members of the Programme Board and other contributors to highlight our #JointWorking.
